Director Biography – Dean Leon Anderson

Dean Leon Anderson is a film writer / director and an alumnus at the University of Greenwich. Trained by BAFTA nominated film director Yann Demange (’71), Dean has achieved his own success, premiering work at prestigious film festivals across the world.

Dean is a multi-talent, often writing, directing, producing and editing film productions. In 2012, he founded production company Velvet Gold Pictures, which develops fiction films and content for the entertainment industry. Dean was selected from hundreds of applicants to take part in the 2015 B3Media TalentLab programme where he developed short film Class 15. The film was funded by Creative Skillset and starred Sharon Duncan-Brewster (Top Boy, Bad Girls, Eastenders).

Dean has recently directed online commercials for some of the biggest brands, including Virgin Atlantic, Microsoft, and Kiss FM. He is currently working on a slate of original feature film projects.

Director Statement

The script for Class 15 was written and entered into the B3 Media Talent Lab Programme, where it was selected to progress into production. Creative Skillset funded the film, and B3 Media founder Marc Boothe was executive producer. The film is a proof of concept towards an original screenplay that I am developing, which focuses on the three lead characters Zahra, Alicia and Mr Campbell.
