Winter 1963…Two children, Camelien (10) and Lenais (5), from the Reunion Island are taken away from their mother to help in the resettlement policy of the French government. Instead of going to school and receiving an education, Camelien is going to serve as labor in an isolated farm.

ACDE_formatA3.inddMarie Hélène Roux is a young writer and director of talent. At an early age she joined the French National Conservatory, worked consecutively with Dominique Leverd, a Master in the world of theater, Jack Waltzer and later attended the Stella Adler Academy of Acting in Los Angeles.

She worked for several years on independent film productions in Hollywood. In 2008, she founded her own production company MRfeatures where she wrote and produced “Remember The Eyes” and “Innocence Remains” two short films selected to numerous film festivals all over the world.

She made her directorial debut in 2012 with “A Deported Life” (25 minutes) starring renowned French actresses: Elsa Lunghini, Marie Bunel, and Françoise Bertin. In 2014, she wrote and directed “Shortage Of Children” (42 minutes), a film inspired by true historical events during the 60’s in France, known as “Les Réunionnais de la Creuse”.

Marie-Hélène wrote “I Leave Here” with screenwriter Jennifer Deaton and “Les Parenthèses du Sourire” both feature film in development; and she will direct her first feature film “Links Of Life” in the U.S in the Fall of 2015.
