Director Statement

“Charlie” was created in response to how Black Women were portrayed in media. In this film, although serious in nature, wanted to show them in a fun and quirky light. All different and definable from each other. Yet loving and supportive of each other. Also, have a film about women that doesn’t center around men. Which was an important challenge for us. We are happy with this film and hope that it touches the hearts of all that watches it.

We filmed over 7 intense weekends in the fall of 2016. With NO budget. Just hard work and dedication to the craft and the story. This is my first feature length film ( that people will see lol)
