“Proudly We Served: Virgin Islands Veterans of the Korean War” is the third in a series of documentaries on Virgin Islanders who served our country. Produced for the American Legion District 10 of the United States Virgin Islands, this video vividly explores what motivated Virgin Islanders to serve in the Korean War (1950-1953), their contributions to the war effort, and the effect military service had on their lives.
This documentary contains excerpts of interviews combined with
photographs gleaned from their personal collections, newsreel footage, and clippings from newspaper articles during that period, as well as other archival materials that convey what life was like living in the United States Virgin Islands during the time of the Korean War.
